3M™ Dyneon™ Fluoroelastomer MIP 8740

3M™ Dyneon™ Flouroelastomer MIP 8740 has a composition of terpolymer of vinylidene fluoride, hexafluoropropylene, and tetrafluoroethylene. Product characteristics include:

  • Improved cure technology over Dyneon™ 2000 series resulting in more consistent part size from successive molding cycles
  • Process targets: Injection molding, transfer molding compression molding
  • Excellent physical properties
  • Improved scorch resistance at high molding temperatures
  • Excellent flow
  • Low compression set

Dyneon™ FPO 3740 fluoroelastomer can be compounded using standard water cooled internal mixers or two-roll mills with standard fillers and ingredients utilized in typical fluoroelastomer formulations. The "dry" ingredients should be blended before adding to the masticated gum. For best results, Dyneon FPO 3740 fluoroelastomer should be banded on the mill several minutes prior to adding the blended dry ingredients. Once mixed, the compounded stocks display excellent processing characteristics and storage stability.
