Combines a transparent polyester film with a black pigmented crude rubber adhesive and is designed for splicing, holding and sealing.
Remains flexible at -50°C and dimensionally stable to 150°C. Excellent resistance to solvents and chemicals, especially those found in photographic processes. Tapes have been found to perform from -50°C to 65°C continuously and higher for shorter periods. Hot caustics will weaken backing after prolonged immersion. No. 8422 black is opaque to light and will work in systems having automatic sensors.
